Under Cover (1987)

Directed by John Stockwell. With David Neidorf, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Barry Corbin.

John Stockwell started a promising career as an actor in the early 80s. He starred in John Carpenters "Christine" (1983), in Albert Pyuns "Radioactive Dreams" (1985) and even had a role in "Top Gun" (1986). In 1987 he made his directorial debut with "Under Cover". I've never seen this movie, but I think an IMDB score of 4.9 (and the fact that "Under Cover" remained his only effort as a director for 13 years) speaks for itself. Recently he directed "Crazy/Beautiful" with Kirsten Dunst and the backpackers-in-peril movie "Turistas", which starts surprisingly good but loses its steam halfway through.
